I lived at Braconne sometime in the early 60s, when I was somewhere around 5-9 years old, so I don't remember a whole lot. We also lived at Poitiers. My dad was Sgt Ed Poston. I don't have any photos, so I have no idea what it looked like. I do remember riding my bike to the market in Angoulême. I sure don't remember it as built up as it is now.

My grandfather, James Lewis, was stationed there in the 60s for around 7 years with his wife and 3 daughters. They were originally from Birmingham, Alabama. My mother, Joyce, took me to Angouleme 10 years ago and we visited the current residents of the home she and her family lived in.

How can I get in touch with you? I cannot believe you remember my parents name! They were both so young and gorgeous. If you are like me, I do not have many childhood friends, as we moved so much, but I remember you well!

Your father was a fine man. I was a dentist at the 11th General Dispensary from August 1961 to July 1965, present when your father took command. We share your feelings that this was a very good place at a very good time. It seems closer in time than the 50 years ago when we left.
